I’m honored to score this new piece by Haonan Shen for Nowness China’s Burberry campaign featuring the brilliant dancer ZiYue Liu. Hoanan crafted a captivating experience from ZiYue’s personal experience. Haonan directed me to focus on her dancing as a toy ballerina coming to life, from mechanical to fluid and powerful. This approach had immense potential for me to create a unique and innovative sound. In this cue, we wanted to tune the piano and used my performance of Satie Gnosienne’s No. 1 plucking sounds and clothing movement to heighten the experience of Li Zi’s warmup. This is my score for Language Of Body.
